The C.B. Radio is making a comeback

Imagine a day before cell phones and 5G data everywhere, how did people communicate? Around the end of WWII, a man by the name of Al Gross created a better method for communications for troops. By 1949 after the conclusion of the war, this was established as community band radios and was made available to anybody without a formal broadcasting license. Today CB radios continue to be fixtures of communication both in mobile and stationary capacities. One huge benefit it has had over the years was a dedicated channel (channel 9) which was often monitored by emergency services personnel and Good Samaritans for anyone needing emergency assistance. Cell phones have since reduced the need for this facet of CB communication but the network of talkers and listeners continues and is growing. If you want to get in whether during travel or at home, there hundreds of models all with different options.
