May is national pool safety month. Nothing beats keeping a close eye on kids and others to ensure pools are used safely but almost no one can afford to hire someone to monitor a pool 24/7. Here are a couple items which can aid in pool safety.
First is the BCone Pool alarm from Lifebouy. This small device senses when a a large item hits the water, including children and pets. The device then immediately activates a loud audible alarm and will even send push alerts to cell phones.

We think the next best thing is a device that’s not only an alarm but also a camera. Check out the Swamcam which will identify and notify on your smart device anytime anyone enters into the pools “danger zone”. This means advanced notification before a child enters the water. You can also use their app to look in on the pool at anytime. The alarm comes with an override feature for when the pool is in use safely. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

For additional prevention, a pool fence is a great option. This fence from VINGLI comes in a variety of lengths and both 4 and 5 foot heights. This fence also can be easily set up and taken down at the end of the season for easy storage. Amazon currently has this fence on sale with a coupon for additional savings.

For your off season, consider a pool safety cover. This cover from iCover secures tightly on top of the pool to prevent pooling on top of the cover as well as preventing debris from entering the pool over the winter. It comes in several sizes, can accommodate a center step, and either blue or green.
